HOW TO BECOME AMEMBER

Rush is usually a one week period that occurs around the beginning of each semester. This is where non-greeks are able to learn more about our sorority through various events. This can range from General Information Meetings, to lunches and socials hosted by the organization. It is a great way to learn more about the sorority and see if it is something you would be interested in.

AM I OBLIGATED TO PAY FOR RUSH EVENTS?

No Rush is free for every girl who attends. Delta Theta Mu wants to learn more about you and your interests, so there is no money obligation for events.

WHAT IS A BID?

A bid is a formal invitation to join the sorority. A bid does not grant you full membership as a sister of Delta Theta Mu, but it is a crucial step in becoming part of our sisterhood. In order to receive a bid, it is recommended to attend the required events established by Delta Theta Mu's chapter.

IF I ATTEND ALL RUSH EVENTS, WILL I AUTOMATICALLY GET IN?

No, this will not guarantee you an automatic bid to the sorority. An important thing during rush, is that you begin to establish connections and relationships with your potential future sisters. Even if you are shy, it is okay, as long as you find a way to express you interest to at least one sister about joining Delta Theta Mu.

WHAT MAKES ME ELIGIBLE TO JOIN?

After attending the required events established by the chapter, and receiving a bid, you will be eligible for membership in Delta Theta Mu. Upon receiving a bid, each individual should be a full-time undergrad student enrolled at the University in which Delta Theta Mu is established, with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 or higher.

WHO IS ALLOWED TO JOIN?

Any female is allowed to join, as long as she meets the requirements listed above. We are not exclusive just because we are a cultural sorority. Any girl who has interest in Delta Theta Mu is welcome to join.

WHAT ARE THE COSTS OF JOINING A SORORITY?

The costs of semester dues are different for each chapter you will join. Dues are required to cover social events, sisterhood events, and national dues. Further info can be found during Rush Week.
